The premium blend: jute strength, cotton finish
Custom Juco Bags — Jute & Cotton Blend
Juco is a woven blend of roughly 75% jute and 25% cotton. The cotton closes up the weave, so the cloth takes fine print detail and feels considerably softer in the hand, while the jute keeps the natural fibre appearance and the load-bearing strength buyers expect.

Overview
About this product line
The practical reason to specify juco over plain jute is print. Jute is a coarse, open weave, and fine serif type, small text and photographic detail break up across the fibre. Juco presents a tighter, flatter surface, which is why it is the usual choice for premium retail packaging, brand merchandise and corporate gifting where the artwork has to reproduce cleanly.
It also changes the way a small bag behaves. Accessories — jar bags, bottle holders, document folders, cosmetic pouches — have short seams and tight corners that a coarse jute does not turn neatly. Juco creases and stitches more like a cotton canvas, so small formats hold their shape.
We build juco in the same constructions as our jute range: reinforced bases, bar-tacked handle attachments, and an optional interior lamination where a moisture barrier is needed. Fabric can be supplied in natural or piece-dyed colour, and every run is checked against an approved pre-production sample.
Applications
- Premium retail and boutique packaging
- Corporate gifting and conference folders
- Wine, gourmet and preserve presentation
- Cosmetics, toiletry and travel kits
- Brand merchandise where artwork detail matters
Frequently asked
- What is the difference between juco and jute?
- Juco is jute woven with cotton — commonly around 75% jute to 25% cotton. Compared with plain jute it has a finer, tighter weave, a softer hand-feel and noticeably better print definition. Plain jute remains the more economical choice and gives the stronger raw-fibre look; juco is specified where the finish and the artwork matter.
- Is juco more expensive than jute?
- Yes, typically in the region of 20% more per piece for the same construction, because cotton is the costlier fibre and the weave is denser. The exact difference depends on fabric weight, size and order volume — the configurator gives an indicative figure and we confirm it in a written quotation.
- Is juco still biodegradable?
- Both fibres in the blend are natural and biodegradable. If you add an interior lamination for moisture resistance, that film is a synthetic layer — tell us if full compostability is a requirement and we will build without it.
- Can you embroider on juco?
- Yes. The closed weave holds embroidery stitches well, which is one of the practical advantages over plain jute, where an open weave makes fine embroidery unreliable.

- Juco vs jute vs cotton: choosing the right bag fabricThe three fabrics look similar in a product photo and behave very differently in production. This is what actually separates them.
- What MOQ actually means, and how to work with itMOQ is not a sales tactic. It is arithmetic about setup cost — which is exactly why there are legitimate ways around it.
- Screen, offset or digital: choosing a print methodThe right method depends on three things: how many colours, how many bags, and how much fine detail. Here is how they interact.
