The finest print surface in the range
Custom Cotton Bags
Cotton canvas takes finer print than any other cloth we run. Where artwork is photographic, involves fine gradients or small type, cotton is the surface that reproduces it — at the cost of the natural jute texture and some load-bearing strength.

Overview
About this product line
Cotton is the format buyers reach for when the bag is a piece of brand communication rather than a workhorse. The weave is tight and regular, so ink sits on a continuous surface instead of bridging gaps between coarse threads. Fine serif type, thin linework and photographic detail all survive.
The trade-offs are worth stating plainly. Cotton is weaker than jute at the same fabric weight, so a bag rated for the same load has to be built heavier. It reads visually as a tote rather than as an environmental statement — if the natural fibre look is part of the message, jute or juco carries it better. And conventional cotton has a considerably heavier water and land footprint than jute, which is a fair question if the bag supports an environmental claim.
We build cotton in flat totes, gusseted shoppers, drawstring backpacks and small drawstring pouches, in natural unbleached, bleached or piece-dyed cloth. Fabric weights run from lightweight promotional through to heavy canvas.

Frequently asked
- Is cotton better than jute for printing?
- For fine detail, yes — cotton has the tightest weave we run, so small type and photographic images reproduce best on it. For a bold logo where the natural texture is part of the appeal, jute or juco is usually the better choice and costs less.
- Is cotton more environmentally friendly than jute?
- Generally the opposite. Jute grows quickly with little irrigation or pesticide and is one of the lower-impact natural fibres. Conventional cotton is considerably more water and land intensive. Both are biodegradable. If environmental performance is the priority, jute is the stronger position; if print quality is, cotton is.
- What fabric weight should I specify?
- Lightweight cloth around 140 GSM suits single-use promotional giveaways. For a bag intended to be reused, 240 GSM and above is more realistic. Heavy canvas from 340 GSM is used where the bag carries weight regularly.
