Our mission
Replace the disposable, honestly.
There is a lot of noise in sustainable packaging, and a great deal of it does not survive scrutiny. Our position is narrow and defensible: jute is a rain-fed annual crop that grows without irrigation, absorbs carbon while it grows, and returns to soil at the end of its life. A jute bag that gets used two hundred times displaces two hundred single-use bags.
So our mission is not to sell as many bags as possible. It is to make bags durable enough that the substitution actually happens — bags that survive the weekly shop, the site, the store room and the container. A bag that fails after ten uses is not a sustainable product; it is a slower disposable one.
That is why the construction details matter to us: the base reinforcement, the bar-tack at the handle, the stitch density on the load seam. They are what turns an environmental claim into an environmental outcome.

Why businesses choose laminated jute
The laminated jute tote has become the default reusable retail bag for a specific set of reasons.
It survives contact with real goods
The interior lamination resists moisture, oil and staining. A leaking bottle or a wet vegetable does not end the life of the bag, which is what makes repeat use realistic in grocery.
It holds print properly
Raw jute is textured and absorbent; laminated jute gives a stable surface. Logos stay crisp, and photographic offset work is possible where it simply is not on open weave.
It keeps its shape
The coated face stiffens the panel. Bags stand up on the counter and in the boot rather than collapsing, which matters for both retail display and customer experience.
It reads as premium
Customers keep bags that look and feel considered. Natural fibre with a clean print carries brand value in a way a printed polypropylene bag never has.
The substrate still biodegrades
The jute body remains a natural fibre. Where a fully compostable product is required we build the same bag without lamination and specify a heavier fabric instead.
It is procurement-friendly
Consistent specification, documented testing, predictable lead times and reorder parity — the things that make a bag programme manageable at scale.

A jute bag is heavier, so its freight footprint per unit is higher, and its manufacturing footprint is higher than a single thin plastic bag. The environmental case depends entirely on reuse: below roughly ten to twenty uses, the comparison narrows considerably. That is precisely why we over-engineer the failure points — the environmental argument only holds if the bag lasts.
Rain-fed cultivation
Jute needs no irrigation and no significant agrochemical input, unlike cotton.
Full biodegradability
Uncoated jute composts within one to two growing seasons and enriches the soil.
Rotation benefit
Jute is grown in rotation with rice, improving soil structure for the following crop.

Bags fail in predictable places: the handle attachment, the base seam and the corner where the gusset meets the panel. Every specification we build addresses all three.

Double fabric layer with an optional board insert, so the load sits on structure rather than on a single seam.
Four-point bar-tacked handles
Handles are stitched through the full panel height and bar-tacked, distributing load into the body rather than the top hem.
Controlled stitch density
8–10 stitches per inch in polyester thread, checked in-line. Too loose and the seam creeps; too tight and it perforates the weave.
± 1 cm dimensional tolerance
Every run is checked against the approved pattern, so cartonisation and retail fixtures still fit on the reorder.

Every order carries its approved sample, QC records and production log, so we can establish what actually happened rather than argue about it.
