Privacy Policy

At Meouf, your privacy matters as much as your pet's health. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have about your data. We've written it to be clear and honest — not buried in legalese. If you have questions, email us at hello@meouf.com.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, as well as data generated by your use of the Service:

VideosShort (up to 10-second) video clips you record for AI gait, movement and posture analysis. Frames are extracted for analysis; the original video is processed in your browser and not retained.
Voice recordingsIf you use Voice Check-in, the short audio clip of your spoken answers is transcribed to text and then discarded. We retain only the transcript and the resulting 1-5 score.
Push notification dataIf you enable notifications, we store the push endpoint URL and public encryption keys (P-256 + auth) provided by your browser. No personal content is stored here.
Payment & subscriptionIf you subscribe to Meouf Pro, your card details are handled entirely by Stripe. We receive only the subscription status, billing period dates, and a Stripe customer ID. We never see or store your full card number.

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide and improve the Meouf Service
  • Generate AI-powered health insights and recommendations for your pet
  • Send your weekly PDF health report by email
  • Identify and alert you to trends or anomalies in your pet's health data
  • Respond to support inquiries and account requests
  • Monitor for errors and improve platform reliability (via Sentry)
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data or your pet's health data to any third party, ever. We do not use your data for advertising.

Third-Party Services

Meouf relies on a small set of trusted third-party providers to operate. Your data may be processed by:

Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We choose providers with strong data protection practices and, where applicable, enter into Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with them.

When your pet's data is sent to OpenAI for AI analysis, it is used only to generate your response and is not used to train OpenAI's models (we use API access, not consumer products).

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.

We implement row-level security (RLS) policies so that each user can only access their own data. We use rate limiting to prevent abuse and unauthorized bulk data extraction.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain your account and pet health data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

  • Your personal data (name, email) is deleted within 30 days
  • Your pet profiles and health check-in data are deleted within 30 days
  • Photos uploaded for vision analysis are deleted within 30 days
  • Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained for service improvement

We may retain certain data for longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data (most data can be updated directly in the app)
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Portability: Request an export of your pet health data in a machine-readable format
  • Restriction: Ask us to stop processing your data in certain circumstances
  • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests

Cookies

Meouf uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication and session management (via Supabase SSR). These are essential cookies required for the Service to function — we do not set advertising or tracking cookies.

Specifically, we use:

  • Session cookies: To keep you logged in across pages
  • Authentication tokens: Stored in secure HTTP-only cookies

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged in to Meouf.

Children's Privacy

Meouf is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

International Data Transfers

Meouf is operated from and data may be stored in servers located in the United States and other jurisdictions. If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using Meouf, you consent to this transfer.

Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other approved transfer mechanisms to ensure your data is protected when transferred internationally.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of Meouf after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
